I love the Near Eastside because there are so many engaged people doing projects and hosting events to make it beautiful and culturally enriching. The East 10th Street Civic Association is incubating several community assets in the Urban Box space at Clifford Corners. The Rivoli Park Labyrinth is organizing service projects at the labyrinth and throughout the nearby neighborhoods and also hosting opportunities for people from all around to gather doing creative placemaking activities there in that unique space. Concerned citizens are covering graffiti with community murals. There are many active Keep Indianapolis Beautiful block captains keeping the streets clean and planting flowers and trees. There are local establishments to choose from for shopping and eating and venues for art for First Fridays and opportunities to be creative and spend time outdoors all within a couple miles from my house. I don't even have to go downtown to get my culture fix. I love living on the Near Eastside and I am proud to call Rivoli Park my home.
